Heard on Campus: 'From a Perspective of Healing' panel

About 70 students, faculty and staff attended a panel discussion, titled “From a Perspective of Healing: Art and Social Service in Dialogue,” on Nov. 14 at the Lehigh Valley campus. The panelists discussed the healing power of art and media related to the issue of sexual assault.

Allentown School District Visual Arts Educations visit PSU-LV

K-12 visual arts educators from the Allentown School District participated in a Gallery Walk on October 9 coordinated by Ann Lalik, gallery director and arts coordinator at Penn State Lehigh Valley. The social studies educators attended the second half of the morning to participate in the discussion about the Vietnam War and learn about the current exhibit at the Community Gallery, "The War is still with us" in partnership with PBS39. DaWayne Cleckley from PBS39 and Art Villafane from Vietnam Veterans of America Lehigh Valley Chapter 415 led the discussion. Teachers took a break during the visit in the Ronald K. De Long Gallery which is currently showing "DIGEST: Daisuke Shintani & Atsuko Tajima."

Gallery Director Ann Lalik has a vision of making Penn State Lehigh Valley a destination for the arts. That goal has been achieved through the establishment of two art galleries on campus--the Ronald K. DeLong Art Gallery and the Community Gallery.
